2 bottles full-bodied red wine
4 large clementines, juiced
5 small red apples, juiced
1 small pear, juiced
4 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon cloves
1/2 vanilla bean (optional)
3 small clementines, sliced
1/2 cup maple syrup

method

    Combine wine, cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla bean, and maple syrup in a saucepan or crock pot. (If you prefer, you can put your cloves and vanilla bean in a tea ball or tie them in cheesecloth to keep separate.) Stir gently to combine. Juice the apples and clementines. If you are without a juicer, you can use a blender and strain the juice through a nut milk bag or a fine mesh strainer (the nut milk bag will give you less pulp). Add juice and sliced clementines to the wine. Stir gently to combine. Allow to simmer gently for 30 minutes, and reduce heat to
keep mulled wine at a comfortable drinking temperature.
